PSW registration with Ontarioās Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is currently voluntary. NtongoCARE encourages PSWs to stay informed about registration, oversight, ethics, and professional accountability requirements as Ontarioās PSW framework develops.
PSW Hiring Standards
Clear standards protect both clients and caregiversāour hiring process ensures safety, professionalism, and confidence from the very beginning.
Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada
PSW certificate, recognized training, or equivalent experience
Two to three professional references
Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check where needed
First Aid / CPR where required
Vaccination / immunization documentation where required
Confidentiality and privacy agreement
